How we are paid
Betfair pays Wattle Select a commission for customers who reach it from this site. That is the only money the site earns. We are not paid by readers, we carry no other advertising, and no other operator appears here.
In practice this makes every page an advertisement for Betfair, including the ones that read like a guide. The notice at the top of each page says so, and so does the line beside each link that leads to Betfair.
Being paid by the subject of a review is a conflict of interest. We cannot remove it, so we have tried to make it hard for it to bend the facts: see the next section.
How the review is put together
From documents. Every statement about Betfair comes from a page Betfair publishes (its terms, its help pages, its responsible gambling page), from a public register, or from Australian legislation and the regulators who explain it. Each one is shown with where it was read and the date of the text.
We have not opened accounts, placed bets, timed withdrawals or rung the call centre, and the review does not pretend otherwise. That is why it contains:
- No score. A mark out of ten would be our opinion dressed as a measurement.
- No offers. We do not quote promotions. If Betfair is running one, its terms are on its own site.
- No ranking. One operator is reviewed, so there is nothing to rank it against.
- No claims about winning. Betting costs money. Nothing here suggests otherwise.
Dates on this site
The facts were gathered on . That is not the date of the sources. On that day none of Betfair's pages could be opened from where the site was built, and neither could the pages of ACMA or the Northern Territory Government. All of them were read in copies saved by the Internet Archive: the registers in copies from July to October 2026,Betfair's terms from 5 September 2026, and its help pages from 7 December 2025. The date beside each fact is the date of the copy, and the copy is linked so you can read what we read. ABN Lookup, BetStop, the help services, the app stores and federal legislation were opened directly. Treat an older date as a reason to check the figure on Betfair's site.
Who the site is for
Adults in Australia who already bet and want to understand how a betting exchange differs from a bookmaker. It is not for anyone under 18, and it is not written to persuade someone who does not bet to start.
